black hole

inhaling smoke I pondered tomorrow.

exhaling like a factory
a mouth of ash, cinder.

the dark cool air opened my lungs
and made me breathe.

while the stars sang sweetly with light,
the moon-shine bathed me
and my spirit rose to my mouth.

the air was water in my skin
and I was swimming
under the street lights

oh the sky was liquid
and the ink sank into my pupils

and my eyes were the sky!
and my mind was the sky!

i nestled the earth in my embrace,
i felt the stars burn my flesh
the planets were in my hair

the universe had grasped me,
my love was essential, my warmth needed

i shook loose all existence and leapt away,
but all there was;
a black hole

Japanese daydream

The light inside the restaurant was a dim yellow that reflected the atmosphere of steamed fat and excessive grease. They didn't have fluorescent lights in cheap Japanese restaurants. The slums didn't want you to see every detail and every stain on the plastic benches encircling the tables carved up with Japanese characters.

The light absorption of melanin in asians affect their skin color so it's a pale yellow.
In the light from the cheap bulbs everybody in the restaurant looked sick.
And they probably all were.

He held the 1.29 cheeseburger in his fathers hands;
slim and dedicated, careful.
The thought of digesting the food(?) was too much,
so he placed it back on the urine colored wrapper,
then carried the tray to the trash can and emptied it.

As he hit the streets once again, he breathed in the smell of sweat, dirt and pollution, and realized he really couldn't get any more disappointed.
